John is one of Thrive’s fantastic Web Developers! He is truly intrigued by all things web. In fact, he himself describes his dream job as, “Coding amazing websites and web applications that break the mold from what we know the web to be.” Now that is the kind of innovative ambition we love here at Thrive!
John started his career with Thrive as a summer intern and then started working part time while he finished college. He graduated from Austin Peay State University in December of 2016 with a B.S. in Computer Science and quickly became our full time Junior Web Developer. He hasn’t stopped learning new stuff though. He attended WordCamp 2017 in Nashville, a WordPress conference. He’s always learning about current and emerging web technologies.
At Thrive, John develops websites based on web designs from our design team, creatively solves online business needs/problems with code, (He loves code) Manages servers, troubleshoots client site problems and researches and assesses web project feasibilities.
Computers aren’t the only thing that makes John tick. Hailing originally from Mesquite, Texas, this guy can smoke a mean dry rub brisket, accompanied by homemade maple bourbon BBQ sauce. We are ready for a batch of this at the office any time, John… *hint hint*.
John has been married twelve years and has a six year old daughter and three cats.
He loves exploring all types of food! His favorite is Mexican. He loves quality coffee, tea, and bourbon. Not necessarily together.
When he is not coding or cooking, his likes include: spending time with family and friends, biking, hiking, camping, being outdoors, anything space related, reading/watching science fiction, traveling, leatherwork, photography, and art.
