College Female Student-Athlete Brand

Govs Grow was born out of the passion and spirit of a former college Athlete who wanted to give back to the players that give to so much to the community and university at Austin Peay State University. Working with APSU athletics department it was important to show a brand that could reflect the university colors, as well as communicate a traditional feel with strong values. With a message of “Govs Grow” the leaf growing out of the “G” is meant to symbolize the growth coming from Governors as an off-shoot from the University’s already established athletic program. The “Govs Grow” is a mentoring program celebrating the women in athletics at APSU. The simplicity of the lower case “g” and stylistic leaf was meant to not detract from but to add to the already stylized mascot logo of the University. Using the standard colors of red and black is in keeping with the school colors.
